This is not about sex is an evening length performance project. The work utilizes movement, choreography, physical materials, and text to connect to our core thesis, the feeling of constant rage that underscores daily life as a femme body in this world. We are looking at machines, synchronicity, coincidence, and association, to generate movement scores. We explore various scenarios as a means of rebirth and acceptance. We play with framing our reality and the supernatural/subconscious, leading us to rely on the writings of Anaïs Nin’s House of Incest. Her resonant anguish sits above our work, guiding the space and reconnecting us to our reality.
